last day home

Hello readers,

Today is my last day on winter break, and it is now 2018. I tried to change this darn theme but the HTML is too advanced. Why did 11 year old me know so much about customizing a blog? Dang girl. It will be weird going back to school. 3 weeks of living back at home with my family has been great and I've gotten used to sleeping 9 and a half hours every day... But I'm ready to leave for the same reason I left for college far away in the first place.

My whole life I've written down how I was feeling in hopes of being able to look back at my 10, 12, 14, 16 year old self. Yet reality holds that I have random notebooks with random dates complete with random memos. Does writing down your thoughts better your future self or just your present self. I am convinced more and more that it only benefits the present. IDK I'm also just rambling and my eyes already hurt from looking at this bright screen for too long.

Current thoughts: self-efficacy (I think I know the meaning to this word), white screens, watercolor, how moods change so fast, how life has changed in the past 6 months, and uncertainty over bunking beds

Christmas Day 2017

I have a boyfriend!!!! What's up y'all it's yo girl Evaughan, back and better than before. I've lived, I've learned. It's my freshman year of college and I'm killin' the game, got some straight A's and a cute Godly bf what more could you want. Lol jk, but not. Will I regret this post? Probablemente pero como yo dije antes, vive y aprende. My grandma just came in and said she was so proud of me :') It's December 25, 2017 and grandma and grandpa Whaley have been staying with us the past couple of days. Grandpa is having a hard time walking and is very reliant on his cane and a helper. But his humor and wisdom is still as sharp as a tack. There's a nice Kansas saying for you avid fans, hey there Quinn ;) I also never realized how funny and savage my grandma Whaley is, she is always cracking these slight jokes that are hilarious but no one really notices. I see her humor a lot in my mom, makes me wonder what things that I thought were specific to me are really from my parents... We opened gifts this morning at 11 or so, and both grandparents were here. That is such a privilege and blessing, to have two sets of grandparents, married and Christian and loving all in our home and in my life. Thank you Jesus. I'm very glad that my grandma and grandpa Curry could be here today. Karen Bynum died yesterday, my grandparent's long time pastor's wife :( She was such a kind woman and it's hit my family hard. Many prayers for Sam Bynum. Lord thank you that we can have eternal life and hope in you, she is fully reconciled to you now. My favorite gifts from today are concert tickets to a BORNS concert and a 50mm lense! Also I got 3 disposable cameras hahah. I am an abnormal girl but they all make me happy, I love memorializing moments. Life is so short. No white Christmas for us, but still a nice day. I'll be sad when all the Christmas decorations are taken down, but I am okay with letting the Christmas music go. Cole has been playing it nonstop since I've gotten home. Julia's newspaper teacher got her some film equipment that he used back in NYC, a very special gift. Cole got new J's that Quinn will have to tell you all the name of, and a nice suede jacket. Very dapper young man. For Madison this Christmas, he did a 3 part narrative of how him and her met from a third person point of view. His writing keeps improving and is very very good! Such a thoughtful gift. I am lucky to have such a stylish, smart young brother. Oh also we went to Becky and Tim's house tonight! It was great to see Heather and Charles and Brandon. I had great conversations with Becky and I feel like God keeps affirming me in following sociology and wanting to impact society, and help people.

Anyways there's some info about Christmas day!! Please enjoy my favorite pictures from today

Summer of 2012

Wow can you believe it? It's 2012. Well my last post was a little more than a year ago because right now I am just starting summer (well I'm a week into it), for me summer officially starts when the pools open. Especially my neighborhood pool because where I live we don't have a beach or lake really close by so my world is the neighborhood pool. Lately I have been having so much fun in the pool and this is just the second day going! I am working on getting tan, even though I would rather not have skin cancer, and just enjoying myself before summer ends. This is the summer I am going into 8th grade! Can you believe it?? I can't, that just seems so old. 7th grade was all about meeting new people. I got another best friend and we could finally compete in sports! I played volleyball (club), basketball (school), cross country (school), and track (school). My best mile time was 6:40, I played outside hitter and libero (beginning), center in basketball, and jumped 4'3 in high jump, and medleys. Overall these sports were all worth it no matter how hard it was to still do big projects and schoolwork its still really fun. Just remember to love your life, and it will get better:)    Just in case your feeling down the Lord will always be there to help you through it.

Cuarenta y Uno

Lately the Voice has started. Which if you don't know already is like American Idol... only different. Anyways, it's been really fun to watch because there are so many amazing singers.

2 DAYS LEFT OF SCHOOL!! Can you believe it? It seems like just yesterday I was starting 6th grade and I hated middle school so much. Now it's so fun. I'm gunna miss a lot of people. Hopefully I will see them next year or in the summer or at the pool. Ya neva know! Plus there has been no homework and it's just a blessing. Man, am I glad we got no more tests, no more work, just having fun.

Talk to you in the summer when I'm done with 6th grade!

Cuarenta

This week has taken forever to go by! I don't know if it's just me or what but weekends are too short! Ahhhhhhh! I have school tomorrow:( Let's see..... almost 2 weeks left of school! Yes, almost there. Okay so our science teacher is so nice and she was like "Were going to run out of school year and we won't be able to fit in that final, I'm so sorry. Is everyone okay with that?" And everyone but 2 people were okay with it. We were so happy because she had told us that we would have to study really hard because there were 100 questions on the test over everything we'd learned. I mean how horrible is that. But I was so so so thankful! I jumped up and gave her a hug! Oh also in Spanish our teacher was like we aren't going to finish this chapter so there will be no test over it. I we were so happy! Yes I love my teachers. They are the best!

Talk to you later!

Treinte y Nueve

Hey guys!

I just came back from state meet with my best buds Bailey and Juliana. Love them! :D And I did so well. It's amazing how much I've improved over the year! :D But school is coming to an end (almost) YAY! But I am ready for the summer. Oh yah. Also saw Soul Surfer, so inspiring. Gave me a new perspective on life and how much I have that I don't even realize. CAUTION: you will cry. But it's worth it. Happy ending. Good christian story. Can feel her pain, and just shows to us how much good can come out of bad things and that God has a plan.

Love you!
